Milos Kerkez the Liverpool’s left back has built a reputation for his fearless attacking runs, pressing, and mature defensive performance since joining the club in 2025.

Kerkez was born on November 7, 2003, in Vrbas, Serbia. Regardless of his place of birth, he chose to represent the Hungarian international side because his connection to their football culture, and his family’s root.

He started his football journey at the local side OFK Vrbas before he moved to Austria to join Rapid Wien’s youth team. Kerkez developed quickly at his teenage age as he was immediately noticed by the coaches. His pace, aggression, and ball confidence were outstanding unlike many young defenders his age.

These attributes earned him a move to the Hungarian club Gyor, where he made his senior appearance as a teenager, which attracted attention from some top European clubs.

The Italian giant AC Milan signed Kerkez in 2021 after he was convinced by Paolo Maldini to join the club. Although he never made a senior appearance for Milan, but he gained experience that helped him grow mentally, and tactically as he played along side seasoned players that helped him improve his defensive discipline.

He later made a move to AZ Alkamaar, where his career exploded. In the 2022/2023 season he came one of the most exciting young left back in Europe, which earned him a recognition on the Golden Boy shortlist award.

His Move to AFC Bournemouth in 2023 was his breakthrough season as he quickly adapted to the intense playing style of the Premier league. England football demands physicality, and Kerkez was up to the task as he became known for his fearless one on one defending.

Analysts praised his football style and mentality, describing him as one of the most promising modern full back as he combines both defensive aggression and creative attacking.

Liverpool splashed a transfer fee of £40 million to secure the signature of the young Hungarian in 2025. A transfer that showed the club’s commitment building a young and fast defensive line under the management of Arne Slot.

According to Kerkez, the move to Liverpool was a dream come true as he has always wanted to play at Anfield. He quickly became the fans favourite because of his energy, work rate, and fearless personality on the pitch.
