Curtis Jones embodies Liverpool’s identity as he was raised and groomed in the club’s academy. He has progressed through the academy to a first team midfielder for both the club and country (England).

Jones was born on January 30, 2001, in Liverpool, England. From a young age he displayed exceptional footballing talent, and joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of nine (9). He became one of the club’s most highly rated prospect as he displayed creativity and confidence with the ball.

He made his U23s debut in January 2018, after which he signed his first professional contract on February 1st 2018. He was named in Liverpool’s squad for the Premier League match against Everton on 7 April and was included on the substitute, but eventually did not make an appearance.

Jones made his season debut for Liverpool on 25 September 2019  which was his second competitive match for the club in a Carabao Cup match against Milton Keynes Dons. His performance was outstanding as he received the man of the match award.

On 5 January 2020, Jones was part of a Liverpool team largely made up of teenagers that beat Everton 1:0 at Anfield in the 2019/2020 FA Cup. Jones scored the winning goal, his first for the club, a shot from the 20 yards. At 18 years Jones became the youngest goal scorer in a Merseyside derby since Robbie Fowler in 1994.

Liverpool presented Jones a new long term contract on 4th July, 2020, a day later he scored his first English Premier League in a 2:0 Victory over Aston Villa.

As part of the Liverpool’s senior team, Curtis Jones has contributed to the club’s pursuit for major domestic and European honors, which has helped him in gaining valuable experience at the highest level of footballing under both the management of Jürgen Klopp and Arne Slot.

His consistent performance earned him a place in the National team squad as he made his debut for the England U21 on the October 7th 2020, he scored his first goal for the side against Andorra in a 3:1 victory.

He received his first senior call up on 21 May, 2024, as part of the 33 player preliminary squad for UEFA Euro 2024. However, he was later cut from the final 26 man squad.

He was called up for UEFA Nations League ties in November 2024. On 14 November 2024, Jones earned his first England cap against Greece, and scored his first senior England goal in the match with a backheel into the far corner of the net.
