Alisson Becker was born on the 2nd of October 1992, in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil. His passion for the game started at a very young age, the act of goalkeeping actually runs in his family, as his elder brother Muriel Becker was also a goal keeper.
At age 10 he joined the youth academy of Sport Club Internacional, while other Brazilian players focused on attacking football, Alisson focused on building a reputation for himself as a goalkeeper. His performance attracted the attention of scouts across South America.
As made his big move to Europe in 2016 as he joined AS Roma as a backup goalkeeper to Wojciech Szczęsny. When given his opportunity, Alisson delivered outstanding performance, his incredible reflex, saves, and composure with the ball transformed him into one of Serie A top goalkeepers.
In the Summer of 2018, Liverpool paid a record breaking fee of €72.5 million, which briefly made him the most expensive goalkeeper in football history. Alisson became a key figure in one of the greatest Liverpool’s modern squad under Jürgen Klopp. In 2019, he helped Liverpool win the UEFA Champions League after defeating Tottenham Hotspur in the finals. The following season, he played a massive role as Liverpool ended their 30 years premier league title draught.
One of the most emotional moments of Alisson’s career came in May 2021, in a dramatic Premier League match against West Bromwich Albion F.C as he scored a last minute header to keep Liverpool’s Champions League hopes alive.
