Goalkeeper 41

Liverpool made a quick move in the summer of 2025 to secure the signature of Armin Pecsi as they saw his as one the brightest young goalkeeper in European football.

Pecsi’s football career began in Hungary, where he initially played both as a striker and a goalkeeper during early childhood years. Along the line he focused fully on goalkeeping, which was a decision that transformed his football career.

He started off at ETO FC Gyor before joining the famous Puskas Akademia, one of Hungary top football academies. At his development years, he was sent on loan to Csákvár where he gained experience playing with their first team.

Liverpool officially signed him in June 2025 for a fee of £1.5 million from Puskas Akademia, a move that was seen as part of the club’s long term plan on the goalkeeping department, joining the clubs strong goalkeeping group of Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The young Hungarian has already appeared during pre season games and impressed the coaching staff his mentality, and goalkeeping technique. Currently he features more with Liverpool’s U21 side, while training regularly with the senior squad. He was a nominee for Premier League 2 Player of the Month in January 2026.
