Freddie Woodman is an English professional goalkeeper currently playing for Liverpool FC, he is known for his calmness under pressure, strong shot stopping ability, and also the most dependable goalkeeper outside the spotlight.

Woodman was born on the 3rd of March 1997, in Croydon, Greater London, England. His father Andy woodman was a professional goalkeeper and later became a football manager, so his background played a major role in him becoming a goalie.

He started his youth career with Crystal Palace FC as a mascot and also as a ball boy, before joining Newcastle United FC where he made over 138 appearance as a goalkeeper in a competition. While at Newcastle, he had six loan spells to Hartlepool United (2014), Crawley Town (2015), Kilmarnock (2017), Aberdeen (2018), Swansea City (2019-2021) and AFC Bournemouth (2022).

At the summer of 2022 at his campaign at Preston, Woodman won the EPL Championship Golden Gloves award for keeping more clean sheet than any other goalkeeper in the division, and the club’s player of the year. That season established his as a high level professional capable of competing at the elite level.

Liverpool signed Freddie Woodman as a free agent in the summer of 2025 to strengthen their goalkeeping position under Arne Slot as a third choice goalie. He made his debut for the club in October 2025 during an EPL Cup clash.

His breakthrough came in April 2026, when he made his Premier League debut at Anfield when the injury of Alisson Becker, and Giorgi Mamardashvili forced him into action.
