Ronald Araujo has revealed how comfortable and welcomed he has felt since joining Liverpool, praising his teammates, coaching staff and supporters for helping him settle quickly at Anfield.
Ronald Araujo After Carabao Cup Match
The Uruguayan defender says he has felt at home from the moment he arrived at the club, giving him the confidence to perform at his best on the pitch.
Speaking to [@auftv_oficial], Araújo said:
“Truthfully, I am very happy. Very, very comfortable. From the first moment I arrived, they made me feel very at ease.
“The team-mates, the coaching staff and obviously the fans, they made me feel at home from the start. That helps. It gives you confidence to perform on the pitch and give your all.”
Araújo: ‘I Know What I Am Worth’
Araújo was also asked whether he felt he had anything to prove after arriving at Liverpool.
The defender made it clear that proving his doubters wrong is not what motivates him. Instead, he says he is confident in his own ability and simply wants to enjoy playing football.
“No, no, no, because I don’t do things to answer people or to try and prove anything.
“I know what I am worth, I know what I have and I know what I can do as a player and I am very convinced of that. I simply enjoy playing football.”
That mentality could prove important as Araújo continues to establish himself at Liverpool. Rather than focusing on outside opinions, the Uruguay international appears determined to concentrate on his football and contribute to the team.
A Positive Start at Anfield
Araújo’s comments also highlight the importance of the environment around a player when adapting to a new club.
Liverpool’s dressing room, coaching staff and supporters have clearly helped the defender feel comfortable, allowing him to focus on his performances rather than the pressure that can come with joining a major club.
For Liverpool supporters, hearing Araújo speak so positively about his early experience at Anfield will be encouraging. The defender’s confidence, combined with his desire to simply enjoy football, could make him an important part of the Reds’ ambitions.
Ronald Araújo is happy at Liverpool — and he is focused on letting his football do the talking. ❤️🔴
